If you have been following our tech Tuesdays, you know we spoke about the 4 models that will be released by Apple for the iPhone 13. The Mini, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This is the same release that Apple did last year for the iPhone 12, but it that may change next year.

In 2020 apple released the iPhone 12 Mini and the sales numbers were disappointing to say the least. This has led to reports that after the iPhone 13 mini is released later this year, that Apple will discontinue the mini family. The lead time is more than a year out, so by the time the poor performance of the 12 mini was known, the 13 mini was already in production and could not be changed, but changes are expected for the iPhone 14. If you are a fan of the mini, this release may be the last opportunity to get your hands on one. Get your iPhone repairs from Genius CPR.

In April of 2020 Apple released their iPhone SE Gen 2, which is most notably known for being smaller than most of the iPhone being made currently. With rumors that the iPhone mini will no longer be made, Apple is turning its attention to the iPhone SE 3 which will run off the same chip that is powering the iPhone 13. Even though the mini may no longer be manufactured you will have a chance to grab an SE when they release.

The iPhone family is expected to remain 4 phones each year, what exactly will replace the mini year in and year out remains to be seen. It is thought to be another version of the Pro. What changes will be made to differentiate itself from the standard iPhone Pro is still unknown and we probably will not get any information or rumors until well after the iPhone 13 is released.
